Holy Guacamole Batman!

I just read a news story that says a woman is suing Kraft foods for the lack of avocados in their guacamole dip.

How in the world did she find a lawyer that would be willing to take on such a ludicrous suit? Is she hoping to make a bundle and tap into the deep pockets at Kraft? The article says that she is claiming that Kraft is fraudulent in putting very little avocado in their guacamole dip, and she’s seeking unspecified punitive damages.

I hope Kraft fights this. I hope they just don’t roll over and settle out of court. I’d hate to think of future law suits this woman might file. Heavens, she might even sue because their french onion dip isn’t made in France.

It’s beginning to look a lot like

CHRISTMAS!!! Well, as much as possible, considering it’s still in the 70s here. I’m not complaining about the heat, I hope it stays as warm as possible for as long as possible.

We’re watching an old movie, “King of Kings” (1961), starring Jeffrey Hunter as Jesus. (I’m going to have a hard time watching him without thinking of Captain Pike of Star Trek.) Rip Torn plays Judas, which I think is terrific casting.

As I was watching the beginning, I remembered that some people believe that Mary didn’t have other children, and they claim that the “brothers” of Jesus were Joseph’s sons by a prior marriage. Then I realized that if Joseph had had other children, he sure didn’t take them with him when he went to Bethlehem, the brothers didn’t go with Joseph and Mary when they fled to Egypt, and there is no definitely mention of them when Jesus got left behind in Jerusalem when He was 12. (I just checked Luke 2 to be sure.)
I have come to the conclusion that Mary and Joseph did have other children after Jesus’ birth, or that Joseph was a neglectful father, lol.

I’m going back to the movie, some guy is creeping around on some rocks right now. (Funny, I don’t remember that mentioned in the book of Luke.)

I’m getting out my scissors! :-)

No, I’m not doing my own haircut, lol, although MP has offered to try her hand at chopping off my fast growing hair. I’m going to clip coupons, even expired ones. It seems that military families overseas can use manufacturer’s coupons at the at the PX and Commissary. Even if a coupon is expired, the family can use it if it’s less than 3 months past the expiration date. The site has a list of bases overseas to “adopt”, and I just have to sort the coupons between food and non-food coupons. I always find tons of diaper/ baby product coupons, and now they’ll go to a great home. What a great way to help the families of service men and women stationed overseas.

Here’s the site that explains this program in great detail.

I guess Microsoft isn’t making enough money

I just read an article that quotes Steve Ballmer, the CEO of Microsoft. He’s basically claiming that Linux is an infringement on their intellectual property. I can’t even begin to fathom this, because from what I understand, Linux is community based. So, is MS going to go after everyone that contributes or has contributed to the success of Linux?

My personal technological breakthrough!

A bit of background: For years, I carried an old Nokia phone. I loved my little dinosaur with the switchable faceplates. One of my favorite faceplates was blue with fluffy clouds. I also had a red one to match my van.

Earlier this year, I reluctantly upgraded to a state of the art phone. Well, it was state of the art when I bought it, but it became obsolete in 82 hours. The new phone had all sorts of new doodads, but I haven’t bothered to mess with most of them yet. (Okay, I confess I haven’t messed with them because if I’m not talking on it, I’m usually playing the games on the cell.)

Tonight, I was sitting in a parking lot while my son went into a store. I started messing around with my cell, and found that I could email the pics on the phone! WOW! I had played with the camera feature before, but I never bothered to really investigate it. I received a very nice digital camera for my birthday, so the camera phone kind of became redundant.

I got home, checked my email, and there was the picture I had taken! WOOOOO!!!

Okay, I know that’s not like discovering some nanotechnology breakthrough, but I thought it was cool. Tomorrow, I may just try to figure out how to work the voice-activated dialing. :-)

Thunderstruck and gobsmacked! :-)

I am so excited about having this blog that I can’t think of the right words to convey how excited I am. It was a totally unexpected gift, one that I’ll treasure for a long time.

I have a myspace page. Blah on myspace, but I’ve been using the blog feature and have been thoroughly enjoying posting my comments. Now that I have my VERY OWN DOMAIN NAME, I think I’ll be blogging even more. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

MP, THANKS FOR THE GIFT!!!!!
