Happy Boxing Day!

Okay, I had a brilliant idea for a post that I was going to put here, but I just spent too much time on myspace trying to get that blog to load, so now I can’t remember anything profound I was going to say. ARRRGHHH!!!!!

Here’s an interesting but unconfirmed factoid: Alan Thicke was Steven Spielberg’s first choice for the role of Oskar Schindler in Schindler’s List, but Thicke turned down the part  due to creative differences and scheduling conflicts.

Okay, that’s not too important. It’s just that Liam Neeson went on to major starring roles, and Alan Thicke is standing in a fountain, doing informercials for Las Vegas resorts.  Isn’t it interesting how life turns out?

First my own domain name….

Now I have email to go with it. It’s tres chic to send out email from azdana.com. Or, it will be, as soon as I write a few.

MP fixed it up for me, I am still so thrilled with the domain name, the look of the site and now the email! She is so terrific to do all this for me. Poor thing, she hasn’t been feeling terrific though. She was hacking and coughing so badly the other night that I wanted to take her to the hospital, but she didn’t want to go. Considering that she has a few inches on me, I couldn’t do much about her declining my offer to take her to the ER. Well, I suppose I could’ve slipped her a mickey finn or something, but I didn’t think of it at the time because I’m sick too.

She’s finally able to sleep regularly but she was even coughing in her sleep. I wish she’d take advantage of my vast herbal knowledge (welll, kinda… sorta. At least I can google and have an account at phytotherapies. ) and fill up with herbal teas and assorted concoctions I could brew up. I could try to force the stuff into her with a funnel, but like I said, she’s taller than I am, so I’d have to stand on a chair while trying to pour the stuff in her mouth, lol. Even though she’s sick, she’s still more spry than a gazelle, so I guess I better just trust her to take care of herself.

Reading about alternative health theories

Right now, I’m reading about a diet formulated by Dr. Johanna Budwig. It seems that her main postulation concerns eating cottage cheese with flaxseed or linseed oil. (According to wiki, she lived till she was 95, so maybe she had some good ideas.)

From what I’ve gathered so far, cottage cheese contains sulfurated amino acids or proteins, which work with the linseed oil to activate something in the oil. I’m specifically trying to figure out if legumes would work instead of the cottage cheese. I don’t think modern cottage cheese is similar to what she advocated. Some sites refer to cottage cheese as “quark”, but I don’t think they’re talking physics. Here’s a link to her protocol.
Here’s another link, lots of info here.
