Solar Cooking: Something to try when it warms up

I was stumbling around the net, and came across a site that shows a very basic solar cooker. I think I definitely want to try to make one. I know that a solar cooker can be used year round, but I don’t want to bother to try to make the cooker until it’s in the 70s, which should be next week. The site even has cooking suggestions, length of cooking times, etc.

IIRC, a solar cooker works similar to a crock pot slow cooker. You just start your food in the morning, and by dinner time, it’s cooked. The directions for the cooker look very easy, I need a couple of cardboard boxes, some newspaper, and a roll of aluminum foil. I think I’ll spray the outer box with some sort of waterproofing. Varathane maybe? I’d hate to go to all the bother of making one, then having it ruined because I forgot to bring it in from the rain.
