Walter Cronkite said WHAT?

Just last night, I was talking to my son about conspiracies and conspiracy theories. I told him that I generally try to avoid seeing any conspiracy where there isn’t one staring me in the face. Although, if I were the richest person in the world, I would make sure the game was played the way I wanted to because I’d be the one with all the marbles.
There was something on the local news about Cronkite, he’s a chair of journalism or something at ASU. So, I decided to look him up, see how old he is, etc.
I was SHOCKED to read that he is actively advocating for a one world government! This isn’t from a site run by a guy hiding in a basement, this came from a fairly reputable site. Cronkite actually said, “It seems to many of us that if we are to avoid the eventual catastrophic world conflict we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward a world government patterned after our own government with a legislature, executive and judiciary, and police to enforce its international laws and keep the peace.”
Considering that there are militant groups of Muslims that don’t seem willing to compromise, who does Cronkite suggest capitulate? Remember, there are terrorists that will settle for nothing less than total destruction of Israel and the U.S. How in the world does Cronkite propose dealing with them?
