Who would you fire?

My sister, MLL had a disturbing incident at her business today and is trying to decide what to do. One of her employees, “Mike”, took out his earring, put it on his desk and went to get some water. “Bob”, being a practical joker, put the earring in the pencil holder on Mike’s desk. Mike came back and was livid that someone took his earring and demanded to know where it went. George said that he saw Jason near Mike’s desk, but that’s all he knew.
When Jason came over, he said he didn’t know anything about the earring and was very mad that George mentioned his name. Jason and George actually ended up punching each other, and probably would’ve done some serious damage to each other if my brother in law, “Dave” hadn’t gotten between both of them. As it turns out, they were both so full of adrenalin that they both hit Dave once or twice, trying to hit each other.
My sister and I are both middle-aged, and neither of us ever thought we’d see the day when two grown men would come to blows over a third guy’s earring,
. More importantly, Dave and MLL have to decide what to do. Do you fire one of them or both of them? What about the practical joker? He wasn’t trying to cause problems, but was it wrong of him to hide someone else’s property?
She doesn’t know what she’s going to do, and I don’t have a clue either. Anyone out there have any suggestions?
