If you’re looking for gift ideas, Gourmet Gift Baskets has a terrific selection of great looking baskets that will suit just about every situation. Do you know someone with a new baby? You can send out a gift basket that’s full of unique keepsakes like ” “My First Bear” and “My First Piggy bank”. If a friend is sick, just can send them a Get Well basket packed full of tea that’s fit for a queen.
MLL and I don’t drink, but maybe, considering her recent home remodeling woes, I should send her one of the Wine Gift Baskets . On second thought, she’s probably suffering from a “chocolate deficiency” and and she’d probably really enjoy the Jumbo Sweet Decadence Chocolate Gift Basket.

I just read a story about this guy that skipped out on a restaurant for five straight weeks. Apparently, he’d go in, order the same meal, then say he had to use the restroom and leave without paying.
The staff got wise to him on his fifth getaway and confronted him when he left the restaurant. Eventually, the police were called and he was arrested.
Okay, shame on the jerk for stealing like that. But why did the restaurant keep serving him week after week? Especially since he kept ordering the same thing? And he was really stupid to keep returning, but no one has ever proven that criminals are smart.
Which one is Owen?

I’ve been reading a lot of blogs lately, and I really enjoy the information overload at Owen’s blog. He posts about business and technology and writes it in an easy to read informative style. He’s also been blogging about participating in the Red Nose fundraiser and he managed to raise quite a bit of money (£200) for Comic Relief.
He also posted pictures of the event, and I hope that if I keep reading, I’ll find out which one of these red nosed guys is Owen.
Want Knowledge? What about College?

I remember an episode of that classic comedy, Green Acres. Eb was wanting to improve his lot in life but since there were no nearby colleges, he signed up for some distance learning. He joined a college that would send his assignments through the Post Office. The results were hilarious because his field of study was professional butchering.

She just sent me a link to a hilarious online comic strip. Station V3 takes place in outer space. The drawings are deliberately minimalist, it seems that the author wants the readers to focus on the content. I started at the beginning and I am working my way through the archives. It’s pretty funny and I can’t wait to find out why the chef is serving everyone mustard for lunch.
Throw out those ugly Double A batteries

I found a site that shows some of the most bizarre and intriguing new US patents. For example, one person patented their ornamental design for a battery. First off, when I use a double a battery, I’m usually not looking at it because it’s inside whatever I want powered. Secondly, do people buy many disposable batteries nowadays? I thought we’d all gotten on the “Recharge Train” awhile ago. I know I’d go broke if I had to keep buying batteries for everything that needs them.
Back to that site… if anyone can explain to me what the Vehicular survival tool is, I sure would appreciate it.

I don’t know why I like this Paul Simon video so much, but I do. I like the performance of the “guest star” and I like the song, even though it doesn’t make a ton of sense to me. I’m going to stop analyzing, and just enjoy.
By the way, while you’re watching, feel free to call me Betty.
