What my son brought home

I am sitting here as happy as a hog because he brought me a ton of sugar free candy. I don’t have to eat sugar free stuff, but I am trying to give up sugar. I didn’t know how much I missed the taste of chocolate until just now when I bit the ear off a chocolate rabbit.

I know that some people don’t like to buy candy after the holiday because they think it might be stale. Well, I’ve got some news for you: The chocolate you buy in the store is made months in advance, and from what I know, the candy factories will probably start making their Christmas candy soon.

Then again, the fewer people that buy the sale candy, the more for me. Wooo!

Look at the ingredients. If the candy has manitol, it will give you diarrhea if you overindulge. I learned this the “hard” way.

Thanks for the warning. I haven’t noticed any adverse reaction yet, but I will definitely slow down on the candy just to be on the safe side.

I only like Peeps that are slightly on the “stale” side! My husband brought me home Peeps for Easter (bad hubby!!) And I opened the package and put them back in the cabinet–they were perfect the next day!!

Robyn, is it my imagination, or do the Easter Peeps taste different than the other holiday Peeps? To me, the Christmas ones don’t taste as good as the ones that come out in the spring.
I agree with you about the stale peeps though, they’re kind of like cold pizza, better the next day. :-)
