It’s still in the box. When I won it, I had every intention of using it. But then I won the PS3, and my son has that hooked up so we can download movies on to it and then watch them on the tv.
I wonder if Jade is enjoying hers? I just stopped by her blog, she’s an interesting writer, but I didn’t see anything about an Apple TV. I’ll keep checking her blog to see if she posts any Apple updates.
I really miss the weekly contests and cool giveaways. A lot of the time, I wasn’t even eligible for prizes, but I still enjoyed being part of the atmosphere and camaderie it created. Too bad the contests were eliminated, because game days were lots of fun to me.
I was surfing and link hopping, and stumbled across shoemoney.com . I must be the last blogger on the planet to find out about his gigantic adsense check he received from google. I’ve never paid much attention to A-list blogs, and I can’t even tell you which blogs are on that list, assuming it exists. But I think I understand why ShoeMoney is so popular. It’s very easy to read and packed full of information. I think I’m going to have to go back a few more times to see what help I can glean from the site. The article about the beginning of AuctionAds is very interesting, shows how it all began. After just one year, over 25,000 publishers are now displaying 300+ million AuctionAds ads per day. This staggers my mind, especially considering the timetable mentioned on the blog.
I can’t remember what I said in the last update. Yeah, I know about the search function, but I’m too lazy, so count this as a summer rerun
Her name is Karen
She only has one eye but that doesn’t slow her down
She’s definitely off the bottle and eating regular food. She is the least picky cat I’ve ever seen and will eat anything, including cat food. Her favorite food in the world is anything with a legume in it. Baked beans, split peas, frijoles… she goes crazy for them. I am beginning to think that she’s not fond of meat and perhaps she’s a bean-a-vore.
I’m not exactly sure how popular they are, because Boscovs seems to have several styles on clearance. They have other styles like the Doodle Monster and Doodle Dinosaurs as well. I thought I’d post this because the prices are terrific, they were 27.99, now they’re 4.99 plus shipping. Call me crazy, but I think this is the best time of year to buy some Christmas presents. Although, I probably won’t be giving Doodle Bears to anyone on my list.
If I stumble across any other great deals, I’ll post them here, and if you buy a Doodle Bear, you have to let me know how long your kid played with it before they got bored. I’m guessing the novelty wears off in less than seven minutes.
I’m not a geek, but I am a carrier of the gene. My son downloaded Ubuntu and showed me a bit of the features it offers. Frankly, I am blown away by it and can’t believe that a free program is so much better than Vista. Then again, considering everything I’ve heard about Vista, Microsoft seems to have set a new high in low standards with it. I wonder if the reason why MS releases so many new OSes is to induce consumers to buy new peripherals. I wonder how many new Vista users can’t get their printers and scanners to work. After all, I don’t think there’s been enough time to develop the proper drivers for Vista compatibility.
Back to talking about Ubuntu…well, instead of me blathering on, here’s a video that shows some of the great features you get (for free) with Ubuntu Beryl:
My son found this video, and I think it’s going to end up at the top of my favorites list. I wish I knew where it came from originally, but I didn’t see any identifying information. So I guess I’ll just enjoy it without being able to figure out if they made any other videos. (I just wish I knew the guy’s name because he is hilarious. Oh well. )
Until November 21, 1980, it was just a typical run of the mill freshwater lake enjoyed by the local fisherman. However, an unusual man made disaster changed it in a way that no one foresaw. It’s one of the most bizarre stories around, and I was really amazed at how someone’s mistake greatly impacted the environment and commerce of an entire community. If you’re not familiar with the saga, or if you want a refresher, check out this video:
There’s also an informative article at Wiki, if you’d like to read more about it as well.
