I tell ya, if I had the patience to learn it, I’d be sitting here making zen cart templates all day and selling them for cut rate prices. Anyone that has the ability to make pretty zencart templates could probably make a fortune from people like me.
Recently, we decided to switch to zen cart on the commerce site. It’s supposed to be easy and seamless. It is actually confusing the heck out of anyone that’s tried to work on my site. So I decided to go hunting to see if I could find anyone that sells premade templates because I know how I want it to look and it shouldn’t be too hard to find someone that will take my money, right?
Wrong! I found the major template site, and almost every other seller site is an affiliate of that site. I did find one site that does good work, but had a small selection and not what I was looking for. However, I think I’ll give them some link love because I respect a company that puts their prices right out where everyone can see them:
EF Graphics & Web Design has a great site and their templates look nice, I just wish they had more of them. If you’re checking into zen cart, visit them and you’ll see what I mean, and you’ll also see that their prices are clearly marked.
One template maker really irked me. Not only didn’t they have any prices available, their contact form wanted my telephone number so they could call me back. So I gave them a phone number. I don’t think they’re going to be able to sell one of their templates to my local electric utility company.
I just found a blogger that talks extensively and expertly about Zen Cart. I’m going to bookmark his Ten Reasons Why You Should Use Zen Cart and read it when I’m not so bleary eyed. I have to hand it to him, he is a great writer, its very easy to read his posts. Or it will be, once I’ve gotten some sleep.
