Don’t eat ConAgra Banquet Pot Pies!

It looks like Banquet Pot Pies could be linked to over 100 cases of salmonella in dozens of states. CNN is also reporting that ConAgra has voluntarily stopped production and has temporarily closed the Missouri plant where the pot pies are made.

The thing that really bothers me is that there is no word of any of this on the official ConAgra website. How long would it take one of their employees to add a scrolling message that warns the public? Don’t they care that their product could be affecting the health of many of their loyal customers? In my opinion, when a company faces something like this, they should be the first to step up and sound the alert. Right now, I’m not feeling very confident about any of the foods that ConAgra sells, not just because of the possible salmonella, but because of the way they’re handling the situation. Shame on ConAgra for not telling the public in a timely and forthright manner!

Paper covers rock, but tree shelters cockroach

We all have to face the inevitable. The classic game of wit and strategy, “Rock, Paper, Scissors” has been updated and remodeled. We all remember that scissors only cut paper. In the new version, scissors can also do actions such as stab monkey, cut women’s hair, reflect moon and swish through air. The instructions also include dynamite, nuke, lightning, gun, dragon, and wolf among others. I suppose it could take awhile to memorize it all, but the descriptions are pretty entertaining on their own.

Lessons I’ve learned online

One of the biggest things I’ve learned  is to find your niche in the market. Figure out where you stand now, where you want to be, and how to get there. Find out what is needed online, then fill that need. As a matter of fact, a few months ago, I sat back and did some deep thinking. I came up with a solution for something that is needed, obtained a few partners, and we’re moving full steam ahead on the project. What we’re developing has never been seen online, and I’m so excited about it that I can barely keep it a secret. My partners and I have been working on this for awhile, and we’re just waiting for the all the legalities to be fine-tuned. Until then, I can’t say a word to anyone, online or off. Heck, its so confidential that all the members of my family don’t know all the details.

Has it really been five days since my last post?

Have I been working hard, or hardly working?

Should I make my login password easier to remember?

Why do I pick out new skins for this blog and never switch?

Why do people move to Arizona and then start complaining about the heat?

How do I get irfanview to work on this laptop so I can add pictures to this blog?

How do I find the funniest video on YouTube?

And what about Naomi?

I only show my age in my ears

I borrowed one of my son’s music cds and am listening to it right now. All I can say is I’m glad it’s his and not mine. I’ve never tried to influence his choice in styles of music and this cd definitely reflects that. I set rules about content because I am dead set to any cop-killing lyrics, whether they’re sung by rappers or Barry Gibb. But I feel that music genres are an individual taste and I just don’t think its a good idea to argue over matters of taste, even if the parent doesn’t like what the kid likes.

It seems that the older I get, the slower I like my music. Recently, I’ve been enjoying some old southern gospel classics from the 40s that I stumbled across on youtube. I never thought of youtube being a great archival resource, but many are using it for that purpose. The funny thing is, I probably wouldn’t have listened to the old southern gospel songs five years ago. Interesting how tastes change, eh? Who knows, maybe in five years I’ll appreciate the music that’s playing on the cd right now:

OJ Simpson security surveillance video on YouTube!

The description says, “OJ Simpson caught on video? Palace Station Hotel and Casino robbery. Watch and decide for yourself.”

I can’t think of anything further to add, so without further ado, here’s the tape:
