I was about to post the worst Saint Patrick’s Day joke ever

Shamrock Egg
…but this musical Irish Shamrock Easter egg that plays, “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling” has inspired me to be serious for a moment. Its enamel is a gorgeous color, I love the sparkly rhinestones and I like how it opens too, like you could use it to hold a special little treasure. The site is offering free shipping, so if you want to get one for yourself, here’s the code and the link: SFMusicbox.com: Musical Gifts & Collectibles Priced for Any Budget! I bought some Christmas gifts from their site, and got a lot of rave reviews about their products. My aunt said it was her favorite gift for the year! I never thought of looking at their site for other holidays, but it looks like this Shamrock Egg could do double duty for both St Patrick’s Day and Easter. I don’t know if eggs covered in clovers will bring you good luck, but maybe it might protect you from the after-effects of reading the corniest joke ever told about March 17.

Sorry, I can’t help myself, here it is:
What do you call a fake boulder?
A Sham Rock

Please don’t pelt your monitor with rocks or banana peels.

Are you a Salt River Project (SRP) customer?

If you live in the metro Phoenix area, and your electricity is from SRP, you’ll be happy to know that they believe in sharing their financial surplus with their customers. We can look forward to an average savings of “$32.43 each on bills for 2008 because the company’s financial performance last year was better than forecast.”

Now, I know that’s not a wheelbarrow full of money. But at least it’s not an increase, right? For years, I was on Arizona Public Service (APS) and the rates seemed to be much worse than what SRP has.

Mark Bonsall, SRP chief financial executive said,”When we have a better-than-expected financial year, we want to share that with our customers.”

And I say we customers should show our appreciation right back at them, especially when you call them during one of their frequent power outages. The next time you’re on the phone with them, and the representative says, “Thank you for calling SRP”, reply with, “No, thank you for being SRP”.

;)

It’s WACKY WEDNESDAY!

I don’t know what’s going to happen every Wednesday, but I sure feel wacky today! As a matter of fact, I feel so wacky that I’m going to try my hand at predicting the future. I don’t believe in astrology, but this post might just describe someone perfectly.

Today’s horoscope:
Burt''s Bees Head to Toe Starter Kit: KIf today’s your birthday, you were born under the sign of Silken Tofu. Your lucky animal is the dwarf gecko and you have an inordinate fondness for all Burt’s Bees products . You are friendly and outgoing but have an aura of mystique about you, which may be caused by your secret habit of eating Cajun food while bathing. If you’re going to be online today, make sure to look both ways before crossing the information superhighway. You may feel lonely at times, but rest assured, you will soon meet someone that shares your love of Bagpipe music.

Wouldn’t you hate this phone too?

Kyocera KX160 Faceplate Pattern,Color Squares (TF)My poor little two year old Kyocera has been through some rough times, so I ordered an Audiovox to replace it. I thought I’d like the new phone, but I am less than pleased with my purchase. Look at my list of reasons, wouldn’t you feel the same way I do?

  1. Son set it up for instant messaging so I can get text messages anywhere on the planet (yeah, like I need to do more typing)
  2. I had finally learned how to take great pictures with the old phone
  3. Cats turn wacky when they watch it vibrate (actually, its pretty funny to watch a cat attack it on the desk)
  4. It doesn’t have a flashlight (not that I can find, anyway)
  5. I can’t figure out how to set it to make those cool Star Trek communicator noises when I open it
  6. No way to transfer my awesome Race 21 scores to the new phone
  7. All the ringtones seem to sound like a variation of the theme song for the Smurfs cartoon show.

And the biggest reason:
Old phone looked cute and sassy
New phone looks like a teeny tiny George Foreman grill.

Help the poor and beat my score

I just stumbled across this great non-profit site that needs some linky love. At FreePoverty.com, you play a geography based game, and the higher your score, the more potable drinking water you donate to needy people. I just played it, and managed to donate 147 cups of water. I don’t think that’s a very high score, but in my defense, its seven a.m. here and I’m usually not fully wide awake till the crack of noon. So I’m daring everyone to try to beat my score, then come back and tell me how well you did. If you don’t want to play the game, you can help out by giving them a link in a blog post. They also have banners you can use, click on the one below to grab one in your choice of colors:

Want to learn how to really make money?

So you’ve decided its time to make decent money online. Your first step is to

Join Pepperjam Network today!

After you’ve signed up there, then it’s time to start learning from some of the masters. One of the best ways to get the information you need is to attend Affiliate Summit. The founders, Missy Ward and Shawn Collins, have assembled some of the greatest names in affiliate marketing in one place. In case you didn’t know it, Shawn Collins literally wrote THE book on the subject and is one of the leading experts in the field. Affiliate Summit West is scheduled for Feb 24-26 in Las Vegas, and from what I hear, its booked solid. However, Affiliate Summit East is scheduled in Boston for August 10-12, 2008 at the Boston Seaport Hotel, and they’re offering a special rate at their site if you register between now and Feb 26.

If you want to follow along with the happenings at Affiliate Summit West, they’ve set up their own YouTube channel, and they’ve already started uploading videos. Everything I’ve seen so far on the videos has really piqued my curiosity, and if you’re like me and want to earn money online, you’d do well to check them out to see what they have to offer. Then again, if you want to know my secrets, just buy my upcoming ebook titled,”I Just Need to Sell One Hundred”. It won’t be for everyone because I’m selling them for ten grand each. I may not be able to sell tons of them, but like the title says, I just need to sell one hundred copies.
;-)

Is affiliate marketing a good alternative to blogging for dollars?

I decided awhile ago to get out of paid blogging, and have been checking into affiliate marketing programs. I have learned a lot, and I’d love to share everything I know, but I don’t want to turn this blog into another “road to riches” site. (Hmmm… now that I think about it, I have another site I might be able to use for such a purpose, but does the internet really need another “how to get rich” blog?)

In the interest of transparency, I’m going to post an affiliate link for a program I just joined, and tell you that if you sign up under me, I get five dollars. I would also assume that if you post the link on your site, then you’ll qualify for the same offer, so you can also earn money by encouraging others to sign up.

However, I did not join their program in order to make money from others signing up, I joined because they have some great programs available from name brand companies that pay high commissions. Names that everyone knows and products that will probably sell themselves because they’re familiar to us all. (Yeah, I could tell you the names, but I’m trying to encourage you to click on the link, bwahaha.)

It seems to me that Pepperjam wants to help you to succeed as much as possible, offering affiliates the chance to communicate directly with the merchants to talk about things like private offers, custom advertisements or coupons. I belong to several other affiliate programs and none of them offer such assistance.

I know that some doubters say you can’t make money with affiliate marketing. I would definitely disagree with that, but I would also say that if you’re looking to make 10,000 dollars a day then you probably should look elsewhere. Affiliate marketing is like anything else in life, you get out of it what you put into it. If you are motivated to make money, then sign up with Pepperjam, learn from all the help they have available, and earn commissions on famous products. They want to help you get ahead because your success is their success.
A revolution in affiliate marketing has arrived. PepperjamNetwork.com.
