If you live in the metro Phoenix area, and your electricity is from SRP, you’ll be happy to know that they believe in sharing their financial surplus with their customers. We can look forward to an average savings of “$32.43 each on bills for 2008 because the company’s financial performance last year was better than forecast.”

Now, I know that’s not a wheelbarrow full of money. But at least it’s not an increase, right? For years, I was on Arizona Public Service (APS) and the rates seemed to be much worse than what SRP has.

Mark Bonsall, SRP chief financial executive said,”When we have a better-than-expected financial year, we want to share that with our customers.”

And I say we customers should show our appreciation right back at them, especially when you call them during one of their frequent power outages. The next time you’re on the phone with them, and the representative says, “Thank you for calling SRP”, reply with, “No, thank you for being SRP”.
