My son’s glorious career

My son has left the fascinating world of retail and is now happily ensconced in his job at a call center, doing tech support. He sits there all day, answering questions from middle-aged people who don’t know know much about computers. Then he comes home and has to deal with me, a middle-aged person who doesn’t know much about computers.
He loves his new job because they’ll flex around his school hours AND he makes more than even his pinhead bosses make at Walmart. Well, that’s not quite fair, his bosses treated him very nicely most of the time and were sad to see him leave, so I probably shouldn’t call them names. Still and all, I think that any person that’s a manager at a Walmart has probably reached the pinnacle of their skillset and probably isn’t a mental giant, so would that make them pinheads?
Oh gosh, this is why I don’t blog here a lot. I started off with an idea about writing about my son, veered off in to Walmart land and was about to start talking about Walmart customers, Walmart stores and the bad press Walmart gets, much of which I feel is undeserved. I spent too much time going off topic, so now I have to run and will write more about my son (and Walmart) in other posts, other times. Right now, I have to go look at more templates and themes. ugh.
Later Taters!
Darn, someone grabbed the domain name I wanted!

I woke up this morning and decided that wombatcombat.com would be a fun name to own, but someone else beat me to it. I don’t know what I’d do with the name once I owned it, but that’s never stopped me from buying a domain name before.
Someone recently asked me how many domains I own, and I honestly don’t know off the top of my head. I have a list of some of them on this laptop, but the main chart is on my big girl desktop that I don’t use that often any more. I guess I could sit here and try to count them all, but that’s no fun. It’s enjoyable to me to find them and buy them, everyone has to have a hobby, right? Some people collect stamps, some people collect recipes, and I collect domains.
Maybe I’ll do some paid posts here

I’ve been thinking about doing some blogging for pay on this blog. Not necessarily for the money, but committing to blogging for money seems to encourage me to write non-sponsored posts as well.
I just need to find a company that’s a good fit for me. I don’t think I’ll be doing any writing for the one I used to write for. Gosh, I just logged in there and saw that when I was writing for them, I took 548 ops from them. Haven’t taken any since last year though. I don’t like the way the company treats the bloggers, they seem to throw the bloggers under the bus with careless impunity.
For example, although I haven’t taken any ops since October 07, one of their advertisers banned me in MAY because I removed a post. So, this means I gave this guy over six months of link juice, yet he banned me because I got rid of the paid post after having it on my blog for months. Btw, I don’t even remember which post I deleted, I haven’t removed a lot of paid posts, mostly because I’d rather not deal with cleaning up all 548 of them.
Instead of committing to blogging for pay, maybe I’ll commit to removing all the 548 paid posts I did for the company I’d rather not mention. I find it ridiculous that they don’t seem to do anything to safeguard their bloggers, yet the owner of the company claims to love everyone. Sorry Ted, if you love the bloggers, then stand up for them and don’t let the advertisers walk all over them.

Horse owners, watch out for the Amsinckia Intermedia weed (variant sp: Amsinkia intermerdia Common Names: Tarweed & Fiddleneck.) I just read a very informative post on on the blog of Sensation Sport Horses, talking about how this is causing great problems for some horses. The article’s very concise, so if you own a horse, read the article carefully and if you have any concerns, make sure to bring this up with your veterinarian
Why don’t they make plugins for the WP dashboard?

I don’t know how much time I spend looking at various dashboards of my various blogs, but i sure wish I could find something that made the inside of my blog as pretty as the outside of my blog. I was thinking of posting this question at Ask Owen because he is so good at answering questions and has made a few terrific plugins as well. Between you and me, I think Owen’s probably one of the most knowledgeable bloggers around and should be on everyone’s “must read” list. He truly deserves A List status in my opinion.
Maybe I will post my question there later on, because I sure would love to see something different for a change. However, everytime I visit his site, I get so wrapped up in reading his posts that I forget to ask anything till after I’ve logged back into one of my blogs. Like just now, I read his post that’s titled, “How can I get a Gmail user’s Full Name?” and think everyone with a Google account should check out this important post. I’d love to say more, but I’m off to check my gmail accounts….
Later, Taters!
