Archive for August, 2008

I’ll be back by the 3rd. And despite rampant rumors to the contrary, my temporary absence has nothing to do with the Jerry Lewis Telethon, unicycles, dancing bears, or any combination thereof.

My daughter’s list:

10 changes of clothes
3 pairs shoes and socks
deodorant
shampoo
body wash
toothbrush and toothpaste
underthings
digital camera and batteries
disposable camera, just in case
umbrella
bandaids
sunglasses
travel alarm clock
light sweater or windbreaker

My son’s list:

Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Antiperspirant
Cell Phone
Zune Media Player

I was a guinea pig again today, and didn’t mind a bit. Well, there was an interlude where my son carried off my laptop, but that was all in the name of experimentation, or so he claims. My daughter had me testing something totally different, and both of them were talking about structuring, site architecture and a whole lot of other things that I didn’t quite catch. I’m hoping that their end results make money for them, if so, then I guess their activities today could be construed as “parsing the buck”.

President Carter said of Barack Obama:

“I just don’t think he’s got yet the proven substance or experience to be the president.”

This was said less than 2 years ago, when Carter was appearing on “The Charlie Rose Show”, Nov. 30, 2006.

Can someone please tell me what has changed in Obama’s substance or experience in the past 20 odd months or so?

Why I’m up at 3 a.m:

“Mom, please refresh the page”

“What about now?”

“Did you use cntrl F5???”
I’m hoping that if they’re not done soon, at least they’ll give me time off for good behavior.

I’m sure a lot of people have seen the John McCain For President video with “Debra the Democrat”. I found another video where she is giving an interview about being ejected from the 2008 Democratic National Convention because she trusts McCain more than Obama.

She makes great points about what a political convention should be and it makes me wonder if Obama is trying to unify the country, why is he trying to silence those that don’t agree with him? Shouldn’t Obama listen to everyone’s concerns, not just those that agree with him?

Q: What do Barack Obama and Hannah Montana have in common?
A: They both have roughly the same amount of executive governmental experience.

And hopefully both are about to use up their 15 minutes of fame.
