Shocking News about an emu

plopplopemu.jpgIn Florida, some deputy sheriffs were forced to use a Taser to subdue Plop-Plop , an emu that became unruly and escaped from a farm. The bird suffered no long lasting effects from the weapon, but it was temporarily immobilized from the stun gun.

I guess one could say that Plop-Plop went fizz-fizz.

Thank you, Andrew Thomas, Maricopa County Attorney

For those following the Carol Gotbaum story, I just read that Thomas announced that there will be no charges filed against the officers involved in her death. In case you don’t remember the incident, she was the drunk out-of-control woman that strangled herself while in custody at Sky Harbor Airport. Of course, her husband has filed an $8 million dollar claim against the city of Phoenix, claiming wrongful death, etc, etc. I just hope Phoenix stands firm and does not offer any sort of settlement on this. I’ve read a lot about the case, watched the videos, and I believe the cops handled the matter correctly.

Gotbaum was drunk and disorderly, and was put in a holding cell according to procedure.  The cops checked on her at appropriate intervals, and it was her choice to entangle herself in her restraints, causing her own death.  I feel sad that her children have to grow up without a mother, but considering her blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit for driving and that she had taken prescription antidepressants, I think the responsibility for her death lies with her actions that day, as well as the choices of her husband, Noah Gotbaum, and family that allowed her to fly alone.

Happy and Peppy and Bursting with Love….

I have had that phrase stuck in the back of my mind for eons. I couldn’t figure out where or how I had heard it. I don’t know why I didn’t use google sooner but here’s the totally forgettable clip of the show it came from:

Out with the old, in with the …

I’ve been deleting old paid posts, and I think I’m about halfway done. I’m not doing a mass delete per se, I’m looking at each post and if it’s still relevant to me, then I’m leaving it on my blog after I take out the links. I don’t know if I’m going to ask Google for my page rank back, that doesn’t seem important to me at this time. I really haven’t decided on the future of this blog. I don’t think I want to monetize it very much, unless it’s incidental banner ads or something like that on the side.  Right now, I’ve got my fingers in so many pies that I think I want to use this blog as a place to goof off and blow off a little steam. In other words, maybe it’s time for me to bring wacky back.

Might as well laugh at Obama now….

Because if Barack Obama is elected, we’ll all be doing nothing but crying for the next four years.

Does 125exchange.com spam everyone, or just me?

I joined 125exchange.com months ago, I don’t think I ever bothered to activate the account. Normally, they send me three or four snide emails a week,  and I usually just delete them.  Tonight, they will not stop spamming me. So far, I have received SEVENTEEN emails in less than an hour.

I have emailed them back, demanding that they stop and take me off the mailing list immediately, but they persist. I am about to report them for violations of the CAN-SPAM Act to everyone I can think of, including pulling their IP address off their header and reporting them to their host. I feel bad for all the bloggers in their system, having to put up with this kind of garbage.

The worst part of their stupid emails is that they offer NO way to unsubscribe, or opt out. You are stuck in their clutches forever, receiving rude emails like, “I always wonder why some bloggers don’t want extra visitors to their blog?”

or

”What happened? You joined the 125Exchange system X days ago but haven’t created your ads yet.”

Here’s what happened, you nitwits. I decided I didn’t want to be part of your group. When I got the first email saying my account was inactive, I was glad and thought that meant we would be parting ways. Little did I know that you would continue to send me noxious junk, trying to  induce me to become an active participant in your program.

I’d have more to say about them, but they just sent even more emails that I have to delete.
