My gosh, time sure flies when you have a kitty that likes to go for piggy back rides up and down the hall. Karen technically is an adult cat, but she is definitely on the small side. She still acts like a kitten, I don’t know how long she’ll keep that up. I have enough “dignified” cats that are on the stuffy side, I just hope Karen doesn’t pick up on their attitudes any time soon. She still loves beans of all kinds, but also has developed a passion for Ranch salad dressing. So can anyone blame me for choosing to “share” a salad with my kitty instead of updating my blog?

(Please note: Karen is never allowed to use any human dining implements of any kind. I have my own salad bowl, and she has her own kitty salad bowl.)

Personally, I would like to buy every pack in the metro Phoenix area and store them away for the future, but that probably wouldn’t be feasible right now, and besides, if I did that, then no one else in my area could discover their great taste and why they are far superior to Oreos. Don’t get me wrong, an Oreo isn’t horrible, and if you’ve never tasted a Hydrox, then you have no basis for comparison. However, many cookie purists maintain that Hydrox was the first of its kind on the market and Oreos are nothing but a cheap knockoff. Personally, I think that Hydrox do taste a lot better than Oreos, they seem to have a lot more chocolate flavor, while Oreos just seem to be sugar that’s colored to look like chocolate. Also, the Oreo filling seems like white sugary goo when compared to the Hydrox. Imo, the Oreo became more popular not because its a superior product, but because of superior marketing.

And yes, I know that Hydrox contains gluten, so I won’t be able to partake of them for now. I think that’s why I plan on stocking up on them so that I can indulge myself once I go off the gluten free diet. Then again, depending on their shelf life, maybe I’ll get a case of them for each person on my Christmas list this year.

I am happy to admit, that after a lifelong quest, I have found that Someburros makes the best salsa in the world. It’s so good that I hope the streets of Heaven aren’t just paved with gold, but also lined with shelves containing an endless supply of their salsa.

However, their salsa isn’t very compatible with a computer keyboard, so after a heart-stopping OOOOPS moment, I am sitting at my big girl desktop, hoping that the laptop suffers no permanent damage. Of course, all my bookmarks, my notes, and everything are on the laptop, so I don’t know how much work I’ll be able to do today. Heck, I can’t even get my IM program to work on this computer for some unfathomable reason. I’ll figure that out in a bit, but in the meantime, I have some delicious Mexican food to keep me busy. If you’re in the Phoenix area and are a fan of a good chile relleno, you have to check out the ones at Someburros, they are AMAZING! Just make sure that when you dig in, your laptop is safely put away first.

Well, there was an interlude where my son carried off my laptop, but that was all in the name of experimentation, or so he claims. My daughter had me testing something totally different, and both of them were talking about structuring, site architecture and a whole lot of other things that I didn’t quite catch. I’m hoping that their end results make money for them, if so, then I guess their activities today could be construed as “parsing the buck”.

I’ve had it for eons and it was so good for moving around just the right amount of air. It was so reliable up till now, but it just stopped running suddenly. Lasko seems to make good products, so I will definitely try to find that brand when I go to the store for a replacement. Come to think of it though, it may be hard to find a new fan in the stores. After all, it’s about 101° today in the Phoenix area and it’s August, so that means most stores have probably put the fans away by now and are starting to fill the shelves with winter coats and Christmas supplies.

There I was in the control panel, working away merrily, trying to decide whether or not the magenta/puce color combination would look good on my site. In another window, I clicked to refresh the home page, and that’s when it happened:

Everything was GONE! All that was left was a BIG WHITE page staring back at me!

Thankfully, my daughter was able to figure out what was wrong and restore everything back to the way it was. Apparently, it didn’t like the fact that I was copying and pasting my quote marks ( like img src= ” ) and wanted me to type them in instead.

I learned two things yesterday:

ALWAYS back up EVERYTHING! Poor MP had to do some sort of manual restore which would’ve been a lot easier if I had been backing up as I went along.

I may not be a genius when it comes to websites, but I think I gave birth to one. If she hadn’t rescued me, then hours of my hard work would be forever lost. Thanks MP!

Speaking of hard work, I better get on it or it will never get done.

Later Taters!
