Internet Traffic Report looks grim for Phoenix area

I don’t claim to understand everything about the internet, but I sure know when my connection is as slow as a scorpion in winter. I looked at the Internet Traffic Report, and it shows a 100 percent packet loss for Arizona. I hope they get it fixed soon, I had a post ready to go, just needs pictures but uploading right now is pretty much impossible. I don’t mean to whine, but right now, I am yearning for the relatively fast speed of a dial up connection.

Sorry I haven’t posted any news about lobsters lately

lobster_tray_1.jpgFisherman Edward Pothier of Digby County, Nova Scotia must have been surprised when he discovered a rare two colored lobster in a recent catch. According to the news article, lobsters
are usually brownish black, but can also be yellow, blue, and albino as well, although blue lobsters are considered to be rare, and the odds of catching one are approximately one in two million. Pothier’s acquisition is being given to the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Canada’s largest center for ocean research. Scientist Doug Pezzack said it will probably go on display, and may be used as an educational tool as well. Some claim that the odds of finding such a lobster is one in 50 million or more, although Pezzack says it could be as low as one in 10 million.

maine060720-lobster-photo_big.jpgThere aren’t too many free range lobsters here in Arizona, and I’m not very familiar with the subject. I decided to do a bit of research on them and was surprised to find a picture of another duo-chromatic crustacean. This one was caught by Alan Robinson of Steuben, Maine in 2006 and was donated to Maine’s Mount Desert Oceanarium. The staffers there say they have only received three two-toned lobsters in 35 years, and the odds of finding one like Robinson’s is about 1 in 50 million.

Anyone else notice that these lobsters are mirror images of each other? One is red on the right side, and the other is red on the left side. Kind of reminds me of that Star Trek episode where the two aliens looked alike, but hated each other nonetheless. Do you think the scientists will pit the lobsters together for a fight to the death?

UPDATE: Mother of abandoned little boy comes forward

littleadam.jpg

This adorable little boy named Adam was abandoned by his family at a restaurant in Mesa, Arizona. His grandparents or someone in this country must be missing his sweet face.. His mother and/or father are despicable creatures for leaving him, but he must have a relative out there that can identify him, tell him his last name, and save him from having to live at group home.Even if you don’t live in Arizona, if you have a blog, please consider posting this story. You don’t have to link back to me, just help spread the word that this poor little child was deserted. With everyone’s help, maybe someone in the U.S. will recognize him, step forward, claim him and also tell the authorities who Adam’s parents are.

NEW INFORMATION: I posted this story on Monday, and today (Tuesday March 11) Pearl Yonko, 29, has stepped forward and said she is Adam’s mother. She claims that Adam was supposed to be with a relative, but she also admitted that she never checked to make sure that he arrived at the relative’s home. I’m glad to know that the Mesa Police are going to request that the City Prosecutor file a criminal charge of neglect against her.

I am leaving this post standing as a reminder to all parents to make sure to teach your child basic information. Poor Adam allegedly didn’t know his last name, or his parent’s names. If you’re going to take your child to a public place and allow them to be out of arm’s reach, then you better make sure they know who they are. I am beyond appalled at this “mother’s” lack of care and concern for this beautiful little boy. Am I the only one that thinks that maybe she shouldn’t get her son back for a good, long time?

Sunday Funny, or The Gospel Truth about Gaming

(Yeah, I know Sunday’s almost over. Let’s just say that I’m getting an early start for next week.)

Don’t Be a Dumb Bunny

If you’re trying to make money online with more than one site, I think it’s smart to have more than one host. There are lots of horror stories about bloggers and site owners that get stranded when their current host goes belly up, mistakenly overcharges them, or even suspends their account.

I just took a look at Website Hosting offered by ImHosted.com and I think they have some great features and competitive prices. Check them out to see what they have to offer. And while you’re looking, don’t think of how much having an extra host will cost you, think of how much money you’ll lose if all your sites crash because you’re only using one host.

Only the Easter Bunny should put all his eggs in one basket

How much water can you give away?

Still recuperating, still taking it easy. But now matter how I feel, I don’t seem to do very well playing the geographical based game at FreePoverty.com . Your score donates water to those that need it the most. I don’t mind losing too much, because each game helps people around the world in dire need. I’m going to post my embarrassing score, in hopes of encouraging you to give it a try, and if you better than me, post here and claim your bragging rights. Lemme give you a hint: Paris is NOT in Spain, I found that out the hard way.

For the person looking for the baby gift….

Citrus Burst Rose Bouquet - FedExSweet Baby Girl

Here’s a couple of the choices I found, hope you like them. I did some research, and found you could get a nice bouquet of flowers for about forty bucks including the price of delivery from FlowersFast.com . The flowers are very pretty and would probably make the new mommy very happy. However, if you’re looking for a more practical gift, the new parents would probably appreciate a gift card from your local Wal-mart just as much. I don’t know why people like gift cards more than cash, maybe it feels more like a gift or something? I think flowers are a great gift, but then again, with a gift card, you don’t have to worry about changing the water every day.

And if anyone else needs me to help them find a gift, just send a request to dana at azdana.com . I really enjoy window shopping online, especially when I’m its not *my* money I’m spending, lol.
