I’m sure we’ve all heard of Haleigh Cummings, the little girl that is missing from her father’s home in Satsuma, Florida. Even if you don’t live in their vicinity, one way to help the search is by adding a widget from RecentlyMissing.org to your site or blog.

Adding the widget is painless and easy. But if you need further instructions, I’ll be glad to help anyone that needs it. According to most news stories, Haleigh has been missing for four days, since February 9th. Whoever has her can cover a lot of ground in four days, so please help by spreading the word as far as possible.

I’ve been deleting old paid posts, and I think I’m about halfway done. I’m not doing a mass delete per se, I’m looking at each post and if it’s still relevant to me, then I’m leaving it on my blog after I take out the links. I don’t know if I’m going to ask Google for my page rank back, that doesn’t seem important to me at this time. I really haven’t decided on the future of this blog. I don’t think I want to monetize it very much, unless it’s incidental banner ads or something like that on the side. Right now, I’ve got my fingers in so many pies that I think I want to use this blog as a place to goof off and blow off a little steam. In other words, maybe it’s time for me to bring wacky back.

Maybe I’ll do some paid posts here

I’ve been thinking about doing some blogging for pay on this blog. Not necessarily for the money, but committing to blogging for money seems to encourage me to write non-sponsored posts as well.

I just need to find a company that’s a good fit for me. I don’t think I’ll be doing any writing for the one I used to write for. Gosh, I just logged in there and saw that when I was writing for them, I took 548 ops from them. Haven’t taken any since last year though. I don’t like the way the company treats the bloggers, they seem to throw the bloggers under the bus with careless impunity.

For example, although I haven’t taken any ops since October 07, one of their advertisers banned me in MAY because I removed a post. So, this means I gave this guy over six months of link juice, yet he banned me because I got rid of the paid post after having it on my blog for months. Btw, I don’t even remember which post I deleted, I haven’t removed a lot of paid posts, mostly because I’d rather not deal with cleaning up all 548 of them.

Instead of committing to blogging for pay, maybe I’ll commit to removing all the 548 paid posts I did for the company I’d rather not mention. I find it ridiculous that they don’t seem to do anything to safeguard their bloggers, yet the owner of the company claims to love everyone. Sorry Ted, if you love the bloggers, then stand up for them and don’t let the advertisers walk all over them.

Just not on this site. Which is kind of strange, because this is my favorite one of all, the one most like me. I’m hoping to get back to it soon, but every time I log on, I think of all the nofollow stuff that still needs to be done, then I wander away and go do something else that needs to be done. Sigh.

I had more to write, but of course, the phone’s ringing….

Interpol, The International Criminal Police Organization, is seeking the help of everyone possible, in order to identify and find this person suspected of sexually abusing young boys. The original pictures of the suspect had been digitally altered, but experts were able to undo the altering and now the site has a series of photographs of him. Please take a moment to look at the pictures and see if you recognize him. Even if you’ve never seen him before, please spread the word about him, so more people can help find him. Please copy the link and put it on your blog or site because the more people that see his face, the more likely it is that he will be caught.

Did you see John McCains’s new campaign video?

I was just over at CNN, and apparently, Sen. John McCain has given them exclusive right to release his new campaign video. Among other things, it shows him being interrogated while he was a POW during the Vietnam War. His entire experience was pretty harrowing and someone else may have died enduring what he endured.

But does that make him a good candidate for President? I know he’s from Arizona, and I *should* be rooting for him, but I’m still undecided. I can’t even decide whether or not this video was/is a good decision on his part. I guess I’ll watch it again, but I also would like to find out what others think of it too.

Foaming and frothing at the beach

My son forwarded this story to me, and the pictures are unbelievable. Australia’s shoreline north of Sydney looks like a gigantic bubble bath! The article calls it the ‘Cappuccino Coast‘, but to me, it looks like a tanker filled with Mr. Bubble exploded. It appears that there’s no damage from the foam, which scientists say is created by impurities such as dead plants, salts, decomposed fish, chemicals, and excretions from seaweed. If you look at the pictures, it shows people playing in the foam, but I don’t know if I’d want to have it on my skin. Ick!

Around noon today, I was trying to pick something to watch. So I was flipping back and forth between several channels, and they all seemed to be showing yet another police pursuit. A young guy was driving a large truck very slowly through a residential area and the police were right behind him. I decided that I would watch whichever channel was not showing the chase, because I am opposed to the live airing of police pursuits. I was still channel hopping when the crash occurred.

I saw/heard every part of the tragic event that was broadcast. I kept shaking my head in disbelief because the accident involved two veteran helicopter pilots, and I couldn’t believe that there could be a fatal crash in broad daylight with no wind or inclement weather.

I am saddened that they died over such a senseless, waste of time non-story that wouldn’t have even been remembered if not for the crash. The men on the helicopters were all fine journalists and reporters, some of them having risked their lives before in order to help during other search and rescues in the past. How tragic that they all died for the insignificant story that played out below them.

The crash was caused by human error, a mistake that could’ve happened if they all were covering a local golf tournament. I don’t fault the pilots and I hope that no one starts blaming one or the other of them. Errors happen, it’s part of life, and sadly, also part of death.

I know that not all Muslims are murdering terrorists. I know that not all followers of Islam want to wipe Israel and the United States off the map. I know that there are extremists in every group. But doggone it, after watching this very disturbing video, I have to wonder who is teaching what to their children.

Please note that this may not be suitable for children that read. There are no violent images or profanity, but I found the language to be shocking. Also, even though many people are using Firefox, this is best viewed in IE.
