Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do

When was the last time you saw a UPS truck in the left turn lane? Not for a long time, right? A-HA! I thought so! It turns out that UPS decided that its drivers would avoid making left handed turns and announced this decision in 2004. Apparently, the time spent idling was costing them millions each year due to fuel costs. They even developed software that maps customized routes for each driver in order to minimize their left turns.
Now, I’m sitting here thinking about how I can save a few drops of gas by cutting down on my left turns. Which reminds me, I need to find a good mechanic this afternoon. Rats!
I can’t decide who is dumber

I just read a story about this guy that skipped out on a restaurant for five straight weeks. Apparently, he’d go in, order the same meal, then say he had to use the restroom and leave without paying.
The staff got wise to him on his fifth getaway and confronted him when he left the restaurant. Eventually, the police were called and he was arrested.
Okay, shame on the jerk for stealing like that. But why did the restaurant keep serving him week after week? Especially since he kept ordering the same thing? And he was really stupid to keep returning, but no one has ever proven that criminals are smart.
And you thought the Yeti was scary?

I found this story the other day. Apparently, there is a very old story about the Piasa bird that supposedly eats people. I don’t believe in too many legendary animals, and I do know a tiny bit about cryptozoology. I think there are still animals and creatures that are yet to be identified. For example, the jaguarandi was considered to be a fable for many years. However, I don’t think the piasa bird falls into the same category, I just think it’s an interesting read. If I’m wrong, and the piasa is real, then that bird needs to get itself a better press agent.

Someone posed as a hospital employee to steal Mychael Darthard-Dawodu. Mychael is described as a three day old black baby girl.
Please take a look at the Missing Child Poster to see if the face of the abductor looks familiar. The hospital’s security cameras also captured a picture of the suspect walking through the lobby. The face is barely visible, but someone out there has to recognize this person wearing this particular coat.
Even if you don’t live in the area, please help to spread the word about this missing baby. You never know who reads your posts, and one of your readers may be a friend or a neighbor of the kidnapper.

I guess Gordon Dick got tired of getting spam emails and decided to fight back. He sued the offending sender, in a small claims case in court. The defendants were ordered by the court to pay $1,445 in damages and $1,190 in court costs. I think what Gordon Dick said was very relevant to the whole matter of spam:
He said, “It’s anti-social behavior and they shouldn’t be doing it in the first place.”
