Archive for the ‘Weekend Leftovers’ Category
Thanks for all the emails. I don’t have time to fix it right now, so have a good Sunday and I hope to set it to rights on Monday.
This year, it has been an unseasonably cool spring. I’m not complaining, but it’s usually much warmer by now. I’m talking high 80s and 90s by this time of year. But according to wunderground, our high temperature today was 72F.
However, some of the writers at AZCentral have actually tried to imply that our local temperatures have recently been severely impacted by global warming. One of them actually admitted that its much cooler than usual, but if it wasn’t for the heat island and global warming, then Arizona would be even much cooler.
Huh???
I admit that I haven’t spent a lot of time researching global warming and its causes. Off the top of my head, I tend to think that it’s just something that’s cyclical and I take a dim view of all the political correctness about the subject. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty disgusted that the Weather Channel has called for decertification of meteorologists who are skeptical of global warming. I mean, aren’t they all supposed to be scientists? Isn’t the core of science to keep an open mind and carefully examine all evidence and points of view? I’m sorry, but there are too many dissenting opinions on both sides for anyone to state as an empirical fact that global warming is caused by humans.
I hadn’t heard of Evan Sayet until I stumbled across his video at YouTube. I haven’t looked closely at everything he stands for, but so far, I totally agree with everything he says. If you want to know more about me, then you can watch his video. Among other things, he says that liberals are “diametrically opposed to everything good, right and successful.”
He also states that Jimmy Carter’s recent book is tantamount to blood libel.
I have to admit that I was confounded by many liberals and their statements until I read/heard his rather elucidating opinions. This isn’t a direct quote, but it’s pretty close to what he says:
Liberals look at man’s history and see that wars, poverty haven’t been eliminated by prior efforts. They think that the real cause of war and poverty can only be found in the attempt to be right. Their utopia can be achieved if no one is wrong and everyone is right. If no one ever thought they were right, there would be no disagreements.
Well, of course, we all know that, but I try to avoid blogging or doing a lot online on the weekends. But I’m going to do a bit of monetizing today, and I’m also going to introduce a new category: Weekend Leftovers
Here’s the concept of the category:
You’ve worked hard at your job all week, it’s Saturday, so you don’t feel like cooking dinner. You decide to just reach into the fridge, and you make a meal of whatever you find. It’s nutritious, it’s tasty, but it may not be the full dinner that everyone was hoping for.
Well, that’s what my Weekend Leftovers category will be. It may be stuff that I didn’t get around to posting during the week, or it may be something quick and easy that I found. Whatever it will be, I hope it won’t be too objectionable to everyone.
I keep saying that I still have so much to learn that I’m going to have to live to be 274 years old. For example, I just found out that I don’t know much about Spain. Did you know that Spain is divided into autonomous communities? One of them, Andalusia, has some exotic, but yummy sounding cuisine. Doesn’t Pestiños de Miel, a honey-coated sweet fritter, sound delicious? I would really like to try huevos a la flamenca (eggs with ham and tomatoes) as well. Come to think of it, I would love to get an Apartment in Andalucia, stay there for about six months in order to sample all the food and enjoy the local culture.
Like I said, I’m planning on living a long time, and I hope to spend some of the time learnng about and experiencing Spain.
